The Vengeful Foe was a naginata that Yasuke obtained in 1582. That year, Yasuke and fellow Kakushiba ikki member Fujibayashi Naoe were asked by Gyoji to stop the group of competitors in the arena at Ōminesan-ji that were killing all who attempted the tournament. The pair joined the competition, and eliminated Lord Unkai, one of the troublemakers, taking the weapon from his personal effects.[1]
