Tityos is a giant in Greek mythology. He angered the gods, among them Zeus, and for this transgression was doomed to have his intestines eaten by vultures.
During the Peloponnesian War the misthios Kassandra visited a monumental statue of the giant, half buried within the Valley of the Snake in Phokis.[1]
Influence[edit | edit source]
One of Layla Hassan's Animus modifications allowed Kassandra to obtain a sword "Tityos's Fury" whose appearance recalled the giant's legendary punishment.
Behind the scenes[edit | edit source]
The mural featuring Tityos is based on the reconstruction of Polygnotos' Nekyia.
