I actually will be surprised if he is, but only surprised at Ubisoft for making such a weak twist. I mean, even people who haven't played the games can guess that he's a Templar just because he's a Freemason or some shit. A better twist would be that Connor thinks he's a Templar, but then it turns out that Washington really wanted the colonist's best interests and that he was just trying to improve their lives by liberating them.
