Another reason it would make sense for the character of one of those two games to be an ancestor of Connor/Haytham is something Juno said during the spirit journey level: "yours is a special lineage. Past. Present. Future. Many are connected to you. Many who have changed the world. Who will change the world. So too shall you." and one (or better yet, both) the Tudor period and English Civil War represent places where two of those ancestors who "changed the world" could play their part.
