Depends how it's portrayed. Assassin's Creed III was practically composed of American politics and it was a very lacklustre game when it came to its story, particularly because it was just some well-known American figures telling Connor to solve all their problems, and him not actually playing a real part behind the scenes.

If it was Connor doing as he had done, but if he had not gotten involved with the Founding Fathers at all, been somewhat more present at the time period's conflicts from an independent perspective, and did not brush the philisophical core of the Assassins aside, he'd have made a more engaging character.

That being said, him being the dumb idiot he was presumably worked to make the Templars seem a little less demonic.

Brushing those quibbles aside, I would like the American Civil War, just like any time period, though America has been done with III, Black Flag is close to America even though it's set in the Caribbean, and it's time for another part of the world to shine with the next upcoming rendition.
