Yes, thankfully. I don't mind slice-of-life series with teens since those capture proper characters(most of the time >_>) but having super-powered actions where decisions of a teen can mean life and death of millions or even a world? Not so much.

Toriko is currently the only series at the ongoing top that doesn't consist of kids. All the main cast are in their twenties and the rest are super-old. Also the Terra ForMars manga is a rare case of a series that does not follow most of the traditional manga tropes. It is a brutal and gritty series. Albeit it has a handful(like 10?) of teens but they have extremely small roles in comparison to the adults and you know the best part? Everyone can and will die. You can never say for certain which one will survive. It is a true brutal, mature, horror sci-fi. If you have the stomach for such series then I suggest you read it. It bends more towards the Western taste and style rather than the Japanese one. The only thing that makes it Japanese is that the country with the most detailed stuff is Japan. However the Western part of it doesn't seem to have done anything but make it more popular in Japan. It is currently one of the best selling series.

And lol at the parents thing XD And no that isn't limited to anime. Look at DC and Marvel super-heroes.
