I think that was a mistake, since they just hover above his arm with no straps. And when you say "right" you mean, "left", right? Just look at the banner to the right of this wiki's page to see what arm the hookblade is on. And seriously the fact that his normal blade gets replaced by it is really nothing new at all. Again, looking at the banner to the right that shows in in HD, it's kinda obvious.
