I think it will be more like this

"Connor finds out about a Templar in charge of some colonials. He ambushes the camp via treetops. He causes a commotion (eg:Fire on the tents) then the colonials will rush out in their underwear. Connor rushes past the screaming soldiers. A few soldiers stationed outside the Templar's tent engage him. He kills them brutally and without stopping for a breath he goes inside the tent to find the Templar armed with a gun. While the Templar gloats, he throws a nearby "bucket" at him and grabs the templar's gun and shoves in down his throat and pulls the trigger. A cutscene occurs in which all the colonials aim at Connor when he steps out of the tent. He readies his trusty Tomahawk, but at the last second someone shouts "HOLD YOUR FIRE!" George Washington arrives on his noble stead and asks Connor why he killed a commanding officer. Connor explains so George forgives him and pours him a cuppa tea and they discuss about his next target." THE END

This is pure speculation but I would prefer if it turned out like this where Connor wasn't forced to massacre a battalion of colonials thanks to someone's interference.
