Motivation is good, that much I can say, but what seems at first, simple motivation, might lead to a reckless race for the Top Spot. While it will keep the wiki up and active, I fear that this will slow it's growth.

Imagine this, if you will: an article is in desperate need of more information. Lets say this scoring system got implemented, and there are a lot of users already racing for the Top Spot. Which do you think said users would value more: Filling the Article, or filling their edit counts?

Yeah, I've said too much. And please, call me War, it'll save you space :D
