The attack on Fort George was an event that took place during the American Revolutionary War .

After having aided the Continental Army by participating in the Battle of the Chesapeake, François Joseph Paul de Grasse was now in the Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton's debt. Capitalizing on this debt, he convinced the Admiral to shell Fort George as a means for him to slip inside and assassinate Charles Lee undetected.
