Hopefully we will play as Desmond, thats what the ending hinted at. Although occasionally adventuring as one of his ancestors could happen. Perhaps some of Desmonds ancestors other than Ezio found TWHGB's temples and you will have to find them in your memories? I mena Desmond IS the chosen one, and at the end you save the world using the power from the temples and Pieces of Eden you found.
