woodsmoke is an RV ranch in seneca, illinois. it's dense with trees and lakes, and evidently a popular place to camp. perhaps desmond snuck away from woodsmoke to go to chicago, gets in trouble and then comes back to the camp to face his father and mother. Black hills is in south dakota and is very mountain-y. this could be another place where the assassin caravan stopped. i remember desmond saying his parents were a bunch of revolutionaries or hippies or something that were trying to fight the government in the 1st game. don't quote me on that one. perhaps they were gypsies living in the U.S?
