the old Courtesans were historically accurate so far as representation goes, those dresses were designed to show as much as was decently possible by 16th Century standards (or indecently possible, given that showing anything below the neckline was considered slightly racy). I get the impression that the Courtesan mutiplayer character wears what she does by reason of her profession as an Assassin/Templar/Whatever rather than her profession as a *cough* "Lady of Negotiable Affection."
