Yes, the setting and location of AC was excellent, and by far the most fun to venture through. And the enemies were a lot more frightning with goals and beliefs that explain exactly why they are assigned the "Bad Guy" position in the game. But I have to say, AC gets a little bit repetitive over time and can get a little predictable (In the way of what you have to do). I would prefer the story that was given to AC though, as it was exciting to find out what happens and in the very end. But, AC:II had a different mission type every time, not just pick pocketing, interogation or just listening to a conversation but it was helping people around the city, fighting huge waves of enemies and even the little things like those carnival games thingy (Can't remember what it was called). And also, AC:II had a more puzzle-like story, with different clues and ideas that get you wondering about the Templars and what exactly they are doing, and what is going to happen with Desmond Miles and the modern day war between the Assassin's and Templars. So, in my opinion, I would choose AC for its great setting and sense of fear that Assassin's would bring upon people, and AC:II for its awesome mission variety and story puzzles. But thats just me :P
