I wouldn't mind the hookblade making a return. Of course, I've only played Revelations, so I can't imagine life without it! XD Thing is, there aren't many tall buildings in ACIII, mostly trees, so I think there won't be hookblades. There's also the problem of how the hookblade was a Turkish invention; American assassins probably wouldn't use it, since each culture has its own stuff.
