Cesare was a great villian, but we saw so little of him, the scene with him and Rodrigo at the pagan party was brilliant, seeing more that would of been great. And it took up to sequence 8 for Ezio and Cesare to finally confront each other and if they fought each other more than once that would have been good.

Rdrigo was clearly the villian from the very point in Sequence 3 in AC II where Mario mentions that he is the Grand Master of the Templar Order.
