Maybe the new Animus can be something like a device that you put on your arm, simular to the time bomb in the "Predator" films. And that device is connected to something resembeling maybe not glasses, but resembeling the tipe of goggles cyclops form the X-Men has, or the Night vision goggles Sam Fisher has in the Splinter Sell games.
