It hasn't been confirmed she's dead... Yes (SPOILER ALERT) in Revelations Shaun DID go to her funeral and tells Rebecca they buried her in a little cemetary outside of Rome, but Bill (William Miles, Desmond's Dad) may have made him THINK that so he didn't have any distractions to get what they needed - He needed to go to the Black Room so Juno made him stab Lucy (But remember in AC1, Al Mualim used the Apple to make it LOOK like he stabbed Altair) so he would go into a state of shock, and fall into the Black Room. And Bill may have Shaun and Rebecca playing along, and Lucy's really OK. You never know, Ubisoft really likes to mindf*ck us.
