I too find it hard to believe that Lucy could possibly be a Templar. She cared about Desmond and the others way too much to be faked. Sure, WIlliam might have known that she wasn't a real Assassin but then he would have been risking his own son's life as well as Shaun and Rebecca's as well. Besides which, Lucy's friend at Abstergo was killed by the Templars because she got too close to figuring out who they were - at least, this is implied. I know for a fact that if my friend got killed by the people I was secretly working for, it would give me more then enough reason to fight against them and work to bring them down. Lucy could never have been a Templar. 'Nuff said.
