Ahoy, Assassins!
We've got some exciting new features in this update, me hearties! Including a new Helix Rift Event, a new Hero, a new tutorial for first-time players, a new Animus Carousel, and more! Version 2.8.1 will be available in stores on March 10th and an automatic download in your game will occur on March 11th. Read on for details:
New Helix Rift Event - DEAD MEN'S GOLD!
Abstergo Entertainment proudly presents an all-new Helix Rift Event arriving on March 18th! Journey to 1713, the end of the War of Spanish Succession. Storm the beaches of the Caribbean sea with Edward Kenway and the crew of the Sea Dog's Bite in search of a wrecked galleon full of Gold!

Featuring a brand new Hero: EDWARD KENWAY
Edward Kenway, originally born in Swansea, Wales in 1693, would eventually become one of the most feared pirates on the Spanish Main. He would sail alongside legendary names such as Benjamin Hornigold, Edward Thatch, Calico Jack Rackham, and Charles Vane. Introduced to the Assassin Brotherhood by James Kidd, AKA Mary Read, Edward Kenway aided them in their fight against the Templars and joined their cause to keep the knowledge of the Sages out of Templar hands. Eventually pardoned for his crimes, Edward would return to England, where he would marry and start a family. During his time as a pirate, Kenway was an accomplished sailor, a deadly swordsman, and an honorable man.

New Features
NEW tutorial for first-time players
The ACR team has made improvements to the tutorial to streamline the experience for first-time players. Although most of these changes will not have an impact on current players, we wanted to give the community a heads up on some of the main changes that were made.
Overall, the tutorial has been reworked slightly to speed up the learning process and make core game mechanics clearer from the start. For example, we changed some of the animations directing players where to tap, we added a "Zoom Out" button to HQ, and we changed how players are introduced to each Mission type.
Also, slight changes were made to the tutorial story to have more of a focus on Aguilar.
For example, new players will now craft a Bastard Sword instead of a Bardiche in the tutorial, which is equipped to Aguilar.
NEW visuals for purchasing 10 DNA Cubes
We have reworked the visuals for when you purchase 10 DNA Cubes in the Shop. Here is an example from the tutorial:
Now, you will be able to see all of the DNA Fragments that you received on one fancy new page view!
Maximo's Makeover
Maximo had a glow-up! Check out the Assassin's all-new look:
New Animus Carousel
The Animus Carousel is an all-new way to earn free rewards!
With this new feature, you can choose to watch ads to earn additional rewards. Simply watch, spin, and collect!
Every 24 hours you will be able to watch up to 14 ads to earn free rewards.
Game Changes and Improvements
This update also includes various improvements and bug fixes to enhance your game experience. Below is a list of some of the community-reported issues fixed in this update:
Bug Fixes
-Fixed an issue where passive bonuses were different on certain weapons when viewed in the Workshop menu and Inventory vs. the Gear screen.
-Fixed an issue where Agility did not affect air assassination success rate under certain conditions.
-Fixed an issue where Dexterity did not affect stealth assassination success rate under certain conditions.
-Fixed what level Shao Jun's Tiger Stalker armor unlocks in the Armorsmith.
-Fixed an issue where Dodge, Critical Bonus, and Critical Chance were not accurately displayed on the level up screen after a Hero was collected from the Training room.
-Fixed an issue where Russian, Japanese, and Chinese Shop text was not displaying properly.
-Fixed an issue where the armored enemy could not be assassinated in the final room of Story Mission 24.
-Fixed an issue with Flora, Shakir, and Luciano not appearing in the Daily Selection of the Shop.
-Fixed an issue where an alert was appearing on a Gear item that was unable to be equipped due to rank requirements.
-Fixed an issue where Bayek's initial sword was equivalent to a 1-star sword.
-Fixed an issue in Story Mission 10 where using a Hero without a Freerunning skill caused the game to freeze.

I've really enjoyed reading all of your reactions to the Edward Kenway reveal! I know the community has been asking for a Legendary Freerunner and I am SO excited for you to see Kenway in action! Also his Brace of Pistols skill *heart eyes*
