So, what's up my fellow brothers and sisters of the Creed? It's me Supreme, back from yet another hiatus where I've been sort of enjoying Assassin's Creed Origins. Now hear me out before you call me a hater or whatever... it was a good game, but it has one problem, it didn't feel like an Assassin's Creed game in much the same way that Black Flag didn't feel like one either. They were regardless very good games, and Ubisoft has taken directions that I liked... a revamped combat system? It's challenging, and it's fun, but there's no free flow... free flow can still be challenging, just look at the Arkham series.

The other nice thing was the inclusion of at least half a country, for the most part, you have a free full reign of Egypt. You even get to explore what would become part of modern-day Libya (Cyrene). The naval sections with Aya were a nice change of pace from Bayek's missions, and I genuinely enjoyed the authenticity of the sailing. Even Bayek himself was such a humble character... yes, he becomes an Assassin to exact revenge on the people responsible for the death of his son but the quest is so personal, that it makes Bayek feel relatable in a way that we haven't felt since Ezio. Connor and Arno would have been good examples, but their stories were poorly executed.

Having said all this, AC Origins was a step in the right direction... Ubisoft experimented, and they created something memorable. The RPG element? Well, we all have different opinions about that... I personally felt it would be too free, any RPG game is too open-ended, too ambiguous... you play the game but it doesn't hold your hand, or give you clues and you're left to figure out things by yourself.  Origins don't leave you hanging. You have a map, you have Senu, and you have clear mission objectives. That's enough introspecting for now... I'm not here to talk mainly about Origins, but to talk about the new game.

Yeah, that's right... numerous websites have already purported that the next game in the franchise, rumored to have been in development since early 2017, will be set in Ancient Greece and will release in 2019. Knowing Ubisoft's planned releases for AC titles, we can expect a Fall date. Not much else is known about the game, unfortunately, so the rest is speculation. Prior to AC Origins' release, fans speculated that Bayek would be the new series' trilogy protagonist with the first game set in Ancient Egypt, the second in Rome, and the third in Greece or vice versa. Here's why I think Bayek won't make a return... He was forgotten, the only Assassin (s) from his time that was remembered were Amunet and Brutus. While Aya aka Amunet was a fun character to play as she was ultimately not memorable in my eyes, I never looked forward to playing with her... and she doesn't offer anything new for the table, that section where we have to climb the Pharos (The Lighthouse of Alexandria), what the hell was the point of playing as her? They could have transitioned to her lighting up the signal, and it would have totally fine. Playing as Aya didn't do anything for the story, we already know Aya was just as capable as Bayek, she commanded a fleet of Greek soldiers after all. I was perfectly okay with only using her for the naval sections of the game, that offered a new development for the story, we find out what she was up to.

So, this leaves me with the new game... There will be a new protagonist, and rumoured time periods, or rather speculations have been the Peloponnesian Wars, or the Rise and Fall of Alexander the Great, another time period I think could work is The Seige of Troy, if Ubisoft adapted The Iliad into this game, a lot could be done to imply that someone such as Achilleus possessed a high concentration of First Civilization DNA and that the gods were really just the Isu... and that the Armour of Achilleus was a First Civ artifact. Thoughts? Comments? The whole jazz? Please don't be a stranger. I await your comments.
