Darby McDevitt discusses the disappearance of Olivier:

He says that we are left with the fact that the Assassins got his name and found out that he was headed to Chicago.

This lines up with the Assassins hiring Aiden in Watch_Dogs. Or at least the theory that the Assassins were responsible for Olivier’s disappearance.

He also said that what happened to Olivier would be revealed in the future.

This interview was done, or at least published on, January 31, 2014. This is before Watch_Dogs was released. So he could be referencing Watch_Dogs.
