Except that in his later replies he outright questioned Cleopatra's death in AC canon, even implying that the description on the statue in the villa was the start of the "Cleopatra killed by a snake" myth.

I'm really hoping he's just messing with everyone.

First, he retcon the number precursor box, now who kill Cleopatra, even if they write it was canon in their encyclopedia, they must stop. The goal to have a lore it's to play with to expand it, not break it every time it arrange them. They can lost many fans with this kind of things.
