No. >:( Because it still sounds like you only have three options: attack, dodge, block. Now I know one can argue that's all combat is, but I mean I liked the original system of a special emphasis on counter-attacks the most. It was distinct from other similar combat systems like the one in the Batman games because counter-attacking struck back instantly rather than simply setting up for more hack-and-slashing. The system in Brotherhood and Revelations in particular led to a sense of cinematic fluidity in combat. I really want Assassin's Creed to have a unique combat system that preserves its iconic element of counter-attacks, evokes a sense of epic fluidity between chains of parries and strikes, and is not reduced to hack-and-slashing. Brotherhood and Revelations came the closest, then it unraveled in the American trilogy where they sought to simplify it, ironically making it both easier and clunkier.
