I thought it might be a clue to something in the future.

But I actually had an idea. I was trying to think of anything that looked like a star, and I thought of the Seismic Pieces of Eden . And I remembered that in Non Nobis Domine Liam thought the Seismic Piece of Eden was an Apple and Achilles seemed disappointed when he saw what the Piece of Eden was.

So maybe it was just a drawing of what they thought was in the Precursor temples. 

Although in The tyranny of Washington universe the apple was the center of a seven point star on the top of Washington's scepter.
