Syndicate footage starts at around 2:13:00. Most importantly, Evie's chameleon ability is a skill that needs to be unlocked, she doesn't have it from the start. If it works like Arno's abilities, players who are like "ew invisibility" can just choose to ignore it. However, it does seem to work whenever - Evie goes invisible while crouching in the middle of a clearing, so it is not dependent on walls or nearby objects.
