Well, of course, so long as the acting and story is good. But I don't think the medium is really to blame for that as much as the writers. If they do make them for old characters, they should at the very least get their old voice actors back, or it wouldn't really feel like the real deal. Imagine having an entire Ezio game with his China voice actor.
