Achilese robes ARE John de la Tours Robes. It's part of their back story in III and rogue. Aveline's training was rather unique under Agate, and as you pointed out it's not really a hood, not really sure about her. Fair point about Tom Stoddard, though I get the feeling he is more of an envoy of the British Assassin's, however I have yet to read the comic, so I'm not the expert on that. Charlotte comes from the modern age in which it seems most things have become more uniform, same as the Jazz Assassin. Though that is just my interpretation. Good points though. In the end it might just come down to personal preference, with more in America simply not wanting the hood.
