This Wiki and You Part 3: Into the world of Source mode editing
- "Use the source"
- ―War Clown to a person who uses visual mode[src]
Source mode editing is very common to Wiki, while editing you may have noticed two tabs at the top that say Visual and Source. Visual is basic editing but the problem is that it doesn't disclose to you Templates, Userboxes or anything that (besides the information) is extremely crucial in making a good article. This guide will show you not only what is necessary in source mode editing such as bolding, italics among others, but will also delve deeper into source mode showing you more on templates, userboxes ect. So, let's get started.
Basics of Headers
- "After a while, the characters I'm writing begin to feel real to me. That's when I know I'm heading in the right direction."
- ―Alice Hoffman[[src]]
Headers in source mode are extremely basic, to create the headers you'll need to use "=" signs which are required in major and at some stages, even minor source mode edits.
The diagram on the right shows the 5 examples of headers, headers are fairly simple and are necessary in maintaining any article in particular, they aid in spacing out and even making an article neater. Most articles you, the reader, have probably seen consist of these headers. As it goes Header 2, Header 3 and so on, it will each be divided into smaller sections of each part of the Article.
