William M. is a member of the Assassin Order, who acted as a contact for the Assassin teams spread throughout the world. Based in the Assassin headquarters, he regularly kept the teams informed about the situation of the others.[1]

Biography

In 2012, he relayed information to the Assassin team in Italy through Shaun Hastings and requested him to forward it to the other members. He also had a conversation with Lucy Stillman about the condition of Desmond Miles, who had been suffering from the bleeding effect, in which he said that they had to keep going, as they needed the location of the Apple of Eden.[1]

Following the events in the Colosseum Vault, William and one other person found a shocked Desmond, and decided to return him to the Animus to prevent any further harm. Desmond relived more of Ezio Auditore da Firenze's memories from 1506, but his condition steadily worsened. The unidentified man insisted on giving Desmond an injection to stabilize his heart rate but William refused, saying that "the missing data may be there. The Piece of Eden is useless until we have it." Desmond went on to relive more memories of Ezio.

At the end of the memory sequence, Leonardo da Vinci and Ezio Auditore found another smaller vault in Rome. When Ezio's DNA was activated by a pedestal, the room projected a set of coordinates: 43 39 19 N 75 27 42 W. Once the sequence was completed, William instructed the other man to sedate Desmond, but it was too late; Desmond had entered a coma. William was confident Desmond would live, and he and the other man left him to find the temple using the coordinates Ezio and Leonardo found.[2]
