Wenloch Abbey

From the Assassin's Creed Wiki
Revision as of 18:20, 5 February 2024 by imported>TEWR31 (Wenloch Abbey is noted to have been raided/destroyed in 874 (real history), so I imagine the same holds true for Valhalla (wikipedia's History of Shropshire article). Though it was historically a part of Sciropscire and not Snottinghamscire, so the game played loose with the placement. I doubt Wenlocan Abbey is meant to be the historical Wenloch Abbey. This would also place Ceolbert's death at 874, which aligns with when Ceolwulf reigned (believed to have started in 874))

Wenloch Abbey

The Wenloch Abbey was an abbey in Snotinghamscire, England, Unlike most typical abbeys and monasteries, the priests of the abbey kept much of its cargo stored in the catacombs beneath, hoping to keep it hidden from Viking raiders.

In 874, the abbey was raided by the Viking Raven Clan led by Eivor Varinsdottir, who were able to locate the cargo whereabouts and looted it for their settlement of Ravensthorpe.
