War of the League of Cambrai
Template:War The War of the League of Cambrai, was a conflict fought part of the Italian Wars from 1508 to 1516. It involved a number of Western European powers during the Renaissance, including the Papal States, the Republic of Venice, and the Kingdoms of France and Spain.
During the war, several fortifications were raised around and inside Rome. A detachment of the Papal Army was sent to build camp around the Colosseum in order to protect the southern part of the city and the ruins.[1]
