Völund's forge was one of many forges constructed in the Isu Era and was presumably found in the depths of the North Sea.

History

In the late 9th century, the Viking Geirmund Hjörrsson threw himself aboard the Wave Lover and woke up in the forge after drowning in the North Sea. Venturing around, he wondered if he was alive and then came across an apparition Völund. Talking with each other, Völund introduced to him the arm-ring Hnituðr as he described how his ancestors utilized its ability during their lives. After Geirmund was told of his trajectory and saw this opportunity, he took the ring and thanked Völund before leaving.[1]
