Eivor surveys La Greve

The Villa of Amiens was a villa, owned by King Charles, in northern Amiens, Amienois, West Francia.

History

In 887, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan traveled and sneaked onto the grounds of the Villa of Amiens to save Queen Richardis from a trial by fire issued by her husband, King Charles. Although she arrived to save Richardis, Eivor was stopped and challenged by the warrior-priest Gozlin, who survived the initial attempt on his life. However, despite Eivor defeating and killing Gozlin, the pyre was put out by the sudden rain. Richardis was suddenly freed, as the crowd, led by Odo's family priest Walter du Sens, started to kneel in awe of Richardis' survival by God's grace. Meanwhile, King Charles retreated inside due to his failure of killing his wife.[1]

Venturing inside, Eivor came to find and stop King Charles, but only found carnage of dead bodies and blood everywhere. Nevertheless, Eivor found and unlocked the main door and climbed downstairs, only to find Charles near a painting of Queen Richardis. Upon their interaction, Charles challenged Eivor to a fight and battled each other. Leaving no room for error, Eivor defeated Charles in combat and decided his fate, as Richardis later came to see what had transpired. Thus, the reign of King Charles ended and Eivor left the villa quickly afterwards.[2]
