The Valens Aqueduct

The Valens Aqueduct was a Roman aqueduct in Constantinople and a major source of fresh water for the city.

Completed by Roman Emperor Valens in the late 4th century AD, it was restored by several Ottoman Sultans, principally by Bayezid II and was, by the early 16^th Century, one of the most important landmarks in the city.
