European Pond Turtle

Turtles are an order of reptiles known as Testudines which are characterized by the protective shell developed from their ribs that enclose their body.

In West Francia, the late 9th century Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan once hunted three regular European pond turtles to offer at the altar Sarclitas.

During the Seven Years' War, Shay Cormac found a cave painting of a great turtle as part of the story of the Sky Woman. The painting depicted the great turtle that carried a part of Earth on its back. As time passed on, the turtle and the earth on its back grew to be an island, which would be called North America.
