Tulum was a major staging point for the Caribbean Assassins. Assassin Mentor Ah Tabai trained many noteworthy assassins such as Mary Read and Adéwalé here.

Afterpirate Edward Kenway sold maps to the Templars, many of the Assassins were killed or enslaved until they were rescued by Edward Kenway.
