The sacred site of the Tomb of the First Pythia

The Tomb of the First Pythia was a tomb located northwest of the Sanctuary of Delphi in Phokis, Greece.

History

The tomb served as the resting place of the first Pythia in Greek tradition. Outside of the tomb stood a statue, and it was commonly used as a sacred site.

During the Peloponnesian War, the tomb was explored by the Spartan misthios Kassandra, who found and deciphered an ancient stele within the depths of the tomb.

Behind the scenes

The statue standing outside the tomb is one of the unique statues in Assassin's Creed: Odyssey, and seems to be based on a 6th century BCE statue known as Antenor Kore.
