Solid Thread

A thread is a long strand of material used for joining, creating or decorating textiles. It can be made of many materials, including but not limited to plant fibers, metals, wool and silk.

History

During the Renaissance, Italian Assassins spun suture threads from hemp to help assemble their surgical kits.[1] Around the same time, the Spanish Assassins used solid thread in order to create various accessories and pieces of armor.[2]

During the American Revolutionary War for independence from the British Empire, the Colonial Assassin Ratonhnhaké:ton and the artisans living at the Davenport Homestead made ample use of thread in their products, which Ellen spun from wool.[3]
