Thor
Thor was an Isu belonging to a group known as the Aesir and was later remembered as the warrior god of lightning and thunder in Germanic/Norse mythology. Odin's son; Thor was said to have been killed or will be killed by Jörmungandr, a massive sea serpent that encircled the mortal world and the son of Loki also known as the Midgard Serpent or World Serpent, during Ragnarök after it and Loki's other children were banished from Asgard, although it was or will be also simultaneously killed by Thor before dying after the god of thunder takes nine steps back from a spray of Jörmungandr’s deadly venom expelled at Thor from his dying breath.
During the 10th century, the night before Styrbjörn the Strong was to go into battle against Harald Bluetooth, one of his Jomsvikings made an offering to Thor and claimed to have been granted a vision of Styrbjörn sailing home with Harald tied to his mast.[1]
