The Weald

The Weald was a forest-inhabited area that was located in Cent, England

History

In the 870s, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir traveled through the Weald while venturing through Kent.[1]

Behind the scenes

Historically, The Weald's namesake is a long forest that spans across southern England, especially in the regions of Kent, Hampshire, and Sussex.[2] This location corresponds to the modern day site called the Ashdown Forest.[3]
