The Return was a virtual representation of one of Basim Ibn Ishaq's genetic memories relived through the Animus.

Description

Basim returned, once more, to the Sharqiyah bureau.

Dialogue

  • Basim: I should return to Fuladh at the Bureau.

After killing Wasif al-Turki at The Great Garrison, Basim returned to bureau to meet with Fuladh.

  • Fuladh: If you mention the cat, it will come. And here he is.
  • Basim: Go softly, come softly, so the cat does not gore you.

Basim handed Fuladh the bloodied feather, which he puts away before Ali entered the room.

  • Ali: You have honored your word. Wasif lies dead, and all who hear of it, hear of me.
  • Basim: I regret we could not save Beshi. He was a brave man.
Ali mutually part ways with the Hidde Ones
  • Ali: Already they tell his story throughout Baghdad. He will free more by his death than he did in life. Freedom has a price. The only question is whether we will pay it. Beshi was proud to. I have much to do. I would wish peace upon you both, but ... we know that is not in your future. Nor mine.

Ali left.

  • Fuladh: I fear Ali is right. Nothing will stop his rebellion now.
  • Basim: Maybe nothing should. The things he says...

Basim shook his head before continuing.

  • Basim: At the Garrison, we saw Wasif arguing with Governor Muhammad ibn Tahir.
  • Fuladh: Muhammad? That is odd. I will keep eyes on him. Araka Lahiqan!

Outcome

Basim delivered the bloodied feather to Fuladh.
