The Temple of Mithras was a Roman mithraeum in Wincestre, England, dedicated to the god Mithras. It was also used by the Order of the Ancients as a base of operations. In the late 9th century, it was uncovered by Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir, who found it under the Bishop's Residence while investigating Bishop Ealhferth.[1]
