Unlike the robe altair wore in the events Assassin's Creed, his armor provides more protection agasint offensive attacks and is more similar to the armor his descendants Giovanni & Ezio wear.

After the events of assassin's creed, Altair created his own set of armor.

Years later, Altair's Armor is locked inside a tomb at behind bars which only open when all 6 seals from other hidden assassin's tomb are collected and placed on the sides of the bars (3 each). The armor comes in possession of Altair's descendant, Ezio Auditore Da Firenze (Who collects all 6 tokens from the hidden tombs) at 1476. His armor is the strongest in the game. Since it cannot break, it doesn't need to be repaired, which saves the user a great deal of florins, but on the downside, you cannot dye it visibly, only dye the inside of the hood.
