Sunken Temple of Sarapeion

The Sunken Temple of Sarapeion was a sunken temple dedicated to Serapis situated off the coast of Kanopos.

In 48 BCE, the ship belonging to Apollodorus' informant Damastes was sunk near the temple, which led to the loss of an important document meant for the Roman general Pompey.[1]
