Subject 1 was the first participant of Abstergo Industries' experimental Animus Project.
Sometime prior to 1981, this individual was made to view the genetic memories of his ancestor, Aveline de Grandpré, while they were recorded by Abstergo. In Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag You find out that Subject 1 was Male, and was asked how it felt to live the life of a female. Eventually, in 2012, the memories were used as the basis for Abstergo Entertainment's video game Liberation at Abstergo Entertainment.
Subject 1 died of a seizure, whilst in the Animus.
