Skofnung was a short sword used during the 9th century CE in England.

During her travels, the Viking jarlskona Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan acquired this sword by buying it with festival tokens from Norvid during the Sigrblot festival.[1]

Behind the scenes

Skofnung, a sword in Assassin's Creed: Valhalla, shares a similar name with the blade allegedly wielded by the Danish king Hrólfr Kraki. According to legend, it was known for being imbued with the spirits of Kraki's 12 berserkr bodyguards, giving a supernatural sharpness that is hinted at in the weapon's in-game description.[2]
