Sir Gareth's Holy Sword was a heavy weapon that once belonged to Sir Gareth, a Knight of the Round Table. At some point it came into the possession of the monks at Ferrières, a monastery along the Rhine, who bestowed it upon their protector.
During her travels, the Viking shieldmaiden Eivor Varinsdottir of the Raven Clan acquired this great sword after defeating the champion.[1]
