• The schiavona is one of many basket-hilted swords made during the time many different countries made this type of basket-hilted sword the Scottish had the basket-hilted broadsword, the Swedish had the faloon, and the English had the mortuary sword, but one thing the all had in common was speed, agility, hacking ability, and a tip that could easily pierce armor or flesh.
