Sarapeion of Karanis

The Sarapeion of Karanis was a Greco-Egyptian temple to Serapis located in Karanis.

History

In 48 BCE, the Medjay, Bayek, visited the temple, where he helped a local phylakitai, Epigonos, to solve a series of killings against Greek priests in the temple. Bayek was able to uncover a cult of Wadjet as the ones responsible and stopped them from assassinating the head priest of the temple.
